Description

Position Description: · Develop models using Python, SAS, or R. · Collaborate closely with Product Owners and other SMEs. · Present findings to senior staff and make recommendations for improvements. · Mentor junior staff. · Participate in Agile ceremonies, as required.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

· 10+ years of experience as a Data Scientist in a big data environment.

· Bachelor’s Degree in technical field with 10 years of experience.

· Master’s or Doctorate Degree may substitute 5 years of experience, but 10 years is preferred.

· Must be able to obtain and maintain public trust suitability. Contract requirement.

· If not within two hours of the SSA HQ in Woodlawn, MD, must be willing to move within the area at no cost to TAYS Inc

· Must be able to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.


Required Skills


· Experience using SAS, Python, and/or R to compile, transform, and export data.

· Experience building and re-estimating statistical models.

· Expertise working with big data.

· Experience integrating claims, payment, and other administrative data to produce accurate and detailed data tables, statistical analyses, and visualizations related to various studies.

· Experience writing technical and detailed accompanying documentation for data analyses, datasets, and data visualizations that promote an in-depth understanding of an analysis and serves as institutional knowledge and to support quality assurance.

· Experience anticipating problems and working to mitigate any anticipated schedule, quality, or timeliness impacts to projects.

· Experience with building data pipelines, designing databases, and optimizing data flows, preferably with Greenplum.

· Ability to conduct data validation and data analysis to refine existing model features and develop new model features.

· Expertise in working with client SMEs, active listening, and gathering information used in the development and iterative refinement of analyses.

· Strong foundation in statistical modeling, probability, regression analysis, and hypothesis testing, machine learning operations, deep learning, natural language processing, etc.).

· Knowledge of best practices in transitioning prototypes to production (e.g., error-handling, integration, etc.).

· Ability to learn programmatic processes quickly.

· Previous experience with SSA data sources.

· Experience with Data wrangling, cleansing, database management, AWS, and ETL.
